About Jaime

Jaime Johnesee is a speculative fiction author, artist, and medically retired zookeeper and zoologist. She began her publishing journey in 2012, by self-publishing a collection of short stories titled, Oh, the Horror. 

After which, she published a speculative fiction collection of novelettes and novellas starring her character, Bob the Zombie. These stories had been previously uploaded in weekly installments on Jaime's website in 2009. Soon after Bob's release, Oh, the Horror, was picked up by audiobook publisher Cherry Hill Publishing. 

Met with initial success in the publishing world, Jaime became excited and worked to further hone her craft. It wasn't long before her short horror fiction began being accepted to anthologies alongside some of her teenage-hood literary heroes. 

Living out her dreams, her stories were published in anthologies like Masters of Horror,  and VS:X US vs UK (A judged head to head in which she beat out some of her favorite American extreme horror icons to win Best US Story), as well as many others. 

While expanding her Samantha Reece novella, Shifters (originally listed #3 on Goodreads Best Horror Novellas of 2012) into a novel, Jaime also began working on as project manager for The Revelations Series by Devil Dog Press. Revelations was a project where she and her extremely talented co-authors (Lisa Lane and Christine Sutton) worked tirelessly to pull off a seamless trilogy of horror mystery novels that read as though they were written by a single person. In a first within the horror field, it was deemed a success when a blind panel unanimously agreed they couldn't tell the book been written by anyone other than the single pseudonym they'd been given. 

Jaime is currently authoring her series', Samantha Reece Mysteries, as well as Saga of Land and Sea for the amazing publisher, Devil Dog Press. 

She can usually be found writing, creating art, or working as an interior designer and problem solver with her husband, Chris, at their remodeling company, Johnesee and Sons.
